The next steps after this thesis.

  • Use the method on MILES. This directly tests whether the model still works on data with a different mix of place types (Overfitting signature).
  • Use the whole trip. Look at the stays and trips before and after each stay. This is a PhD-size project, not part of this thesis.
  • Try other street maps. Cut streets into fewer or longer pieces, to find out what causes the street problem from research question 2 (Tension with the street-space argument).
  • Separate terraces and balconies. Treat "Building-attached Outdoor" as its own type (Limitations).
  • Rethink the three-phone setup. Plan future surveys so the recordings are more independent.
