Study area
The study takes place in Hiroshima City. Two practical reasons decided this: good map data exists for the city (MAPPLE streets and ZTOWN buildings), and the field survey was easy to organize there.
The model first learns from the Ground truth dataset, the stays where the correct answer is known. After that, it is meant to be used on MILES, a large GPS dataset from a smartphone app. That step has not been done yet (see Limitations).
